Our Journey......

We have been providing alteration services to the Phoenix area since 1997. We first opened our doors at 43rd ave & Thunderbird, but would relocate to 40th st and Bell in 2015.

Renee

Owner | Seamstress
Renee is a Pittsburgh native that fell in love with
sewing when she made her first drawstring bag
in middle school. Very little in her closet would
remain unaltered, including a from scratch
prom dress and bespoke tuxedo for her date.

She would graduate college holding two degrees in fashion design and business management. On her journey across the country, she would make a pit stop in Phoenix Arizona and work with Addy for two years before moving on to the Los Angeles fashion scene.

Renee would land at a production house, spending the next 10 years in high volume garment manufacturing, managing million-piece contracts for brands like Reebok, Quiksilver, and Margaritaville. When Addy called with an offer to sell her business, Renee jumped at the chance to live the American dream and go into business for herself.

Addy

Previous Owner | Seamstress
Addy immigrated from the Philippines in the late 70s, landing a job at Levi's Strauss with the skills
she learned at tailoring school. She would spend the next 20 years working the factory floor making
the vintage denim jeans you wish were in your closet. When her family relocated to Phoenix Arizona,
Addy decided to go into business for herself.

Addy would build Arizona Alterations from the ground up with long hours and a skilled hand. Her
reputation for top quality clothing alterations would attract a large clientele asking for bridal party
needs. 90% of her business would become bridal gown and bridesmaid dress alterations.

At 70 years young, Addy wanted to step back from business ownership and full-time work. She would spin off bridal gown sales when the business relocated to its current location.

Mayuri

Seamstress
Mayuri is a Los Angeles native who’s passion
for clothing would see her graduate college with
a degree in apparel manufacturing.

Like Renee, she would spend 10 years working in
high volume garment production working with high profile
American brands like Levis, Disney and Hurley. In fact, they would become friends while working at the same production house.

When her family relocated to Phoenix, Mayuri would leverage her decade long experience in the fashion industry to develop a line of children’s clothing created from upcycled saris. Mayuri joined the Arizona Alterations family in 2018 to help out a friend and gain inspiration from the hundreds of alteration and custom projects that come through the door on a monthly basis.
